Shampoo and Styling Secrets Pt. 2
Are you washing your hair right?
It sounds simple enough but many of us aren’t actually cleaning our hair properly each time we reach for the shampoo. We recommend the ‘double shampoo technique’. The first shampoo gets rid of excess dirt and grease, repeating the process allows the shampoo to really get in and treat your hair.
‘But won’t that mean using twice the amount of shampoo?’
We know salon quality haircare isn’t always kind on the old pursestrings but it is worth it. Also if you’re shampooing correctly you shouldn’t need more than a ten pence piece size dollop of shampoo. Many of us expect a great big foam party on our head when we shampoo and compensate by using more product when we don”t get the lather of our dreams.
The first shampoo is simply cleansing your hair and won’t produce a proper lather, the second shampoo will lather up a lot more once the layer of grime has been removed. Try it and see for yourself.
You might also find that you wash your hair less often if you’re washing it correctly. The double shampoo method means you’re giving your hair and scalp a real deep cleanse which should keep dirt and grease at bay a little longer.
In terms of styling products, it really does depend on your hair type and your desired look. Curious to see how our team keep their hair looking banging? Read on and find out!
