During the course of your apprenticeship, you will learn everything from basic blow-drying to the very latest advanced cutting and colouring techniques from the Bang Bible of great hairdressing. We realise that every learner is very different and our education teamÂ will guideÂ youÂ through your very own bespoke training program, tailored to maximise your strengths and strengthenÂ your weaknesses.
At the end of your apprenticeship, the educationÂ continues until you are ready to become a fully fledged, confident member of the bang styling team.

What can I expect from a hairdressing apprenticeship at Bang and what is expected of me?
During your time on our apprenticeship program, you will be an assistant to the Bang styling team, looking after the clients and ensuring the salon runs smoothly and is clean and tidy throughout the day. Our education team will teach you all there is to know about being a high level hairdresser. You will learn about all aspects of trade, starting with customer service and product knowledge, then onto blowdrying and hair up before moving on to cutting and colouring and many other aspects of the job. The work is very hard, but the rewards are worth it!
How much will I get paid and what are the hours?
At Bang, we value our apprentices. When they are not in training, they are the backbone of our business â€“ assisting our team of stylists and technicians, looking after clients and ensuring the salon looks clean and tidy. Whilst in training, they are the future of our business. Thatâ€™s why we offer a very attractive salary structure, which can be considerably higher than the National Minimum Wage. In total, your training and working hours add up to approximately 40-42 hours per week.
16-18 yrs â€“ Your starting salary will be Â£700 per month, potentially rising to Â£850 per month when you pass qualifications and hit milestones.
19+ â€“ Your starting salary will be Â£750 per month, rising to NMW for your age after your first year.
How long does an apprenticeship take?
An apprenticeship at Bang will take approximately 3 years.
Year 1 & 2 â€“ NVQ2 qualification and Bang Stage 1 & 2 practical training.
Year 3 â€“ Bang Advanced Apprenticeship Program (Stage 3 practical training).
What qualifications will I achieve?
During the first 2 years of your apprenticeship, you will work your way towards achieving NVQ2 in hairdressing. In your third year you will be placed on an advanced apprenticeship program, during which you will study towards NVQ3 and focus heavily on cutting and/or colouring training to prepare you for qualifying as a Bang Stylist and/or Colour Technician.
Will I go to college one day a week?
No. With an apprenticeship at Bang, all of your practical training is done with our in-house education team. NVQ assessors from an organisation called Dimensions Training Solutions will go through your theory work with you whilst you are at work.
